Fund
A pooled investment vehicle that raises capital from limited partners to make a set of investments over a fixed period. Funds are closed end, with a commitment, a drawdown period, and a liquidation phase.
Example
A 5 billion growth equity fund might make 20 to 30 investments over five years.
