Who they are
George Roberts co-founded KKR in 1976 with Jerome Kohlberg Jr. and Henry Kravis and has remained with the firm ever since. He is widely considered the intellectual architect of the modern leveraged buyout, having helped structure some of the defining take-privates of the 1980s including R.J. Reynolds. In recent years he has served as co-chairman of the board alongside Michael Klein.
